Itinerary

Launceston Departure & Sheffield Murals Stop
Depart Launceston in a comfortable tour vehicle. Enjoy scenic countryside drives towards the north-west before stopping in Sheffield, the "Town of Murals," to admire the town’s famous outdoor art depicting local history and pioneer culture.
Cradle Mountain National Park & Dove Lake Walks
Enter the UNESCO World Heritage-listed park and head to the famous Dove Lake viewing site directly beneath Cradle Mountain. Choose the trail that best fits your fitness level: (1) Option A: The full Dove Lake Circuit, a brisk 2.5-hour walk around the glacial lake; (2) Option B: A series of shorter, relaxed 30-minute boardwalks alongside your guide, including a visit to the historic Waldheim Chalet. Note: The group will regroup at a pre-determined time prior to departure.
Rainforest Waterfall Walk & Ashgrove Cheese
Time permitting, enjoy a short, scenic rainforest walk surrounded by lush greenery to a picturesque waterfall. On the return drive toward Launceston, stop at Ashgrove Cheese to taste and purchase artisan Tasmanian cheeses and dairy products.

Additional Information

Minimum Passenger Requirement: A minimum of 4 adults is required for the tour to operate. If minimum numbers are not met, guests will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
What to Bring: Sturdy, comfortable sports or hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing in layers (alpine weather can be cold and windy even in summer), waterproof rain jacket, sunscreen, hat, and camera, water bottle and cash/card for lunch and souvenirs.

Cradle Mountain sits in an alpine environment where weather can change rapidly. - Alpine Weather / Low Visibility: In the event of heavy mist, snow, or low visibility over Dove Lake, your guide will adjust the walking itinerary to lower, sheltered boardwalk trails such as the Enchanted Walk or Pencil Pine Falls. - Extreme Weather Closures: If roads or park gates are officially closed due to severe alpine conditions, alternative inland cultural and scenic destinations will be provided, or full refund/rescheduling options will be offered.
