Itinerary
Morning Pickup & Seasonal First Stop
Begin your day with a comfortable pickup from your Launceston accommodation in your private mini-bus before heading to your seasonal first stop: visit the famous Bridestowe Lavender Farm to learn about lavender cultivation, snap photos across the fields, and browse the gift shop, or explore the poignant Legerwood Memorial Tree Carvings, featuring historic figures masterfully sculpted from trees dedicated to local WWI soldiers.
Myrtle Rainforest Walk (Welborough Pass)
Stretch your legs on a peaceful, short rainforest walk on Welborough Pass. Surrounded by ancient moss-covered trees and lush ferns, your private guide will share insights into Tasmania’s native species, including Myrtles, Sassafras, Blackwoods, and giant ManFerns.
Bay of Fires Coastal Experience & Fresh Oysters
Arrive at the Bay of Fires region and collect a fresh oyster sampling straight from Lease 65 (subject to farm opening). Head into Binalong Bay for a relaxing lunch stop and time on the pure white sand. Continue to Harbour Point to photograph the iconic granite boulders covered in vibrant orange lichen.
Taylor’s Beach Walk & St. Helens Return Journey

Additional Information
- Ideal Guests: Perfect for families, small groups, or individuals seeking a personalized, unhurried day out at the Bay of Fires.
- Customization: Fully customizable! You can spend longer at the beach, skip specific stops, or request additional food and photo stops with David or your guide.
- Walking Level: Involves short walks over sand, light gravel, and forest tracks. As a private tour, the walking pace and distances can be tailored to suit group members.
- Mobility Note: Standard stops may involve sand or uneven forest ground. Please let us know in advance if any group members have mobility considerations so we can tailor accessible alternatives.
- What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing (layers and a wind/waterproof jacket recommended), sunscreen and camera, cash or card for purchasing lunch, drinks, and souvenirs.
Plan B
Coastal weather and ocean farm availability in Tasmania can occasionally fluctuate. Because this is a private tour, adjustments can easily be made on the fly: - Oyster Farm Closure: If Lease 65 is closed on your tour day, your guide will substitute the oyster sampling with a delicious local Tasmanian gourmet tasting or alternative stop. - Inclement Coastal Weather: In the event of heavy rain or coastal high winds at the beaches, additional time will be allocated to sheltered inland stops, such as extended time at the Legerwood Tree Carvings, local craft shops, or cozy cafes in St. Helens.
