Itinerary

  • The Bruny Island Ferry

We begin our journey with a scenic 45-minute drive from Hobart to the Kettering ferry terminal. From there, our mini-bus will board the vehicle ferry for a relaxing 15-to-20-minute cruise across the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, officially kicking off our island adventure.

  • Get Shucked / Bruny Island Oysters

Indulge in a true taste of the island. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to sample exceptionally fresh, world-class local oysters and vibrant Tasmanian produce, harvested straight from the pristine surrounding waters.

  • Bruny Island Cheese Company

Step into this warm, boutique shop specializing in premium, locally produced craft cheeses, wood-fired breads, and artisan beers. Complete with tasting experiences and outdoor picnic tables, it is the perfect spot to savour the finest local flavours.

  • The Neck Lookout

While there are roughly 200 stairs to climb to the top of the viewing platform, the panoramic rewards are absolutely breathtaking. The Neck Lookout offers an iconic, bird’s-eye view of the spectacular narrow isthmus connecting North and South Bruny Island.

  • South Bruny National Park

Marvel at towering coastal cliffs standing firm against the wild Southern Ocean. Perched atop the headland sits the historic Cape Bruny Lighthouse, first lit in 1838, offering a fascinating window into our rugged maritime past. Nearby, the dramatic shores of Cloudy Bay beckon walkers and surfers alike. Keep your eyes on the horizon - you might even spot southern right or humpback whales on their annual migration.

  • Lunawanna Cafe (Lunch Stop)

Welcome to the southernmost cafe on an island, off an island, off an island - next stop, the South Pole! The whimsical Lunawanna Cafe serves up exceptional coffee and a delicious lunch menu that celebrates the rich natural diversity of Bruny Island. It is a feast for both your eyes and your stomach.

  • Adventure Bay & Wildlife Spotting

Famous for its beautiful, sheltered 7km east-facing beach, Adventure Bay captures a relaxed, timeless Australian beach-town vibe that has beautifully resisted commercialization. Framed by massive gum trees and the dramatic cliffs of Fluted Cape, this area is a haven for rare island wildlife. Keep your camera ready to spot echidnas, quolls, and the island's famous rare white wallabies.

  • Bruny Island Honey (The Honey Pot)

Our final sweet stop is a proud, lifelong collaboration between the Wright family, their bees, and the pristine Tasmanian wilderness. Discover the incredible flavours of pure, raw island honey and browse an array of natural hive products.

  • Return: North Bruny Ferry

With full hearts and unforgettable memories, we make our way back to the northern ferry terminal to catch our departure crossing and return comfortably to Hobart.

End Point

The tour wraps up with a convenient drop-off right back at your original departure point.
