Overview
Hop into a beautifully maintained 1950s classic Chevrolet with up to three of your favourite people and escape the city for a tailored, private cruise through the stunning Yarra Valley. Driven by your local host and Chevy enthusiast, John, you’ll trade the Melbourne suburbs for rolling vineyards, rural back roads, and magnificent bushland. While the valley is world-famous for its wine, this day is entirely about what interests you. Because you have a dedicated private driver to get you home safely, you are free to indulge in boutique wineries, craft breweries, gin tastings, artisan dairies, and local chocolate shops. Beyond the palate, you can explore hidden indoor and outdoor art galleries, stunning botanical walks, and scenic photo ops. This is the ultimate, relaxed way to experience Melbourne’s favourite getaway destination - completely at your own pace. 🛠️ Led by an Expert: Hosted entirely by John - a local Chevrolet enthusiast who handles everything from the restoration of the car to the curation of your day. 🗺️ 100% Tailored by Hand: No rigid schedules. Itinerary
Flexible & Customisable Itinerary
This tour is 100% customizable based on your group’s interests and your selected tour duration. An endless menu of options awaits, and your host will work closely with you to tailor the perfect day. Here is a look at a typical day's itinerary options – usually 30-40 minutes per stop with 40+ minutes transit from CBD.
The Vintage Departure
Your experience begins when John pulls up to your hotel or preferred meeting spot in his immaculately restored 1956 Chevrolet. Slide onto the classic bench seats, soak in the retro nostalgia, and wave goodbye to the city as you head east.
The Scenic Back Road Cruise
Rather than sticking to the predictable highway routes, John puts the Chevy to work on his favourite country back roads through Wonga Park. This is where the fun really begins - winding past rolling hills, hidden valleys, and beautiful Australian bushland with the window down and a great conversation flowing.
Boutique Cellar Door Wine Tastings
Arrive in the heart of wine country. John will guide you to premium, character-filled boutique vineyards known for the region's famous cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Enjoy intimate tastings away from the mass-tourist buses. Stops are chosen according to taste, interest and experience – either en route (always fun!) or booked prior according to choice.
TarraWarra Estate (Winery & Museum of Art)
Pull up the grand driveway to one of the valley's most visually spectacular locations. Here, world-class architecture blends seamlessly into the hillside. You can choose to sample their exceptional estate wines or wander through the striking TarraWarra Museum of Art to enjoy outstanding indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
Four Pillars Gin & Local Craft Breweries
Time to switch gears from wine! We can stop by the world-renowned Four Pillars Gin distillery in Healesville for a premium tasting paddle, or pull into a local independent brewery to sample crisp, cold craft beers and locally pressed cider.
Healesville Township & The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie
Just past Healesville on the road through to The Black Spur is an historical park with picnic ground and short walk trails. And through this traditional old garden are often found small groups of kangaroos/wallabies and native Australia birds, including cockatoos.
Maroondah Reservoir Park (wildlife)

Boutique Beverages (craft beer, local cider, soft drinks etc.)
The valley plays host to a number of small scale producers of high quality drinks, not just the wines for which it is otherwise famous. Depending on interests and tastes, these producers can be included within tour itineraries.
Yarra Valley Dairy & Gourmet Produce Shopping
We wrap up our valley loop at a historic 100-year-old milking shed, home to the Yarra Valley Dairy. Pull up a seat for a cheese tasting plate paired with a warm coffee or a local drop. There will also be plenty of time to stock up on locally made relishes, preserves, and gourmet farm gate produce before the journey home.
The Smooth Cruise Back
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the smooth, iconic ride of the ’56 Chevy as John drives you safely back to the city. You’ll be dropped off right at your door with a camera full of photos, a boot full of gourmet goodies, and plenty of great memories.
End Point
A seamless return transfer back to your original pickup point, or any customized inner-city drop-off location of your choice at the conclusion of the day.
Plan B
John wants you to experience his Chevrolet and the Australian countryside at their absolute best. If the weather doesn't play along, he has you covered! John will instantly pivot the design of your day. He will adjust the route to focus on cozy, premium indoor experiences—such as estate dining, enclosed art galleries, undercover barrel room tastings, and boutique indoor markets—ensuring you stay dry, warm, and comfortable.
