Overview
Escape the city and step into the cool, green world of the subtropical rainforest on this relaxed, small-group nature experience in D’Aguilar National Park. Led by expert guide Anita, this tour is designed for travellers who enjoy quiet immersion in nature and offers a deeper connection to one of Queensland’s most beautiful and lesser-known environments. As we travel along the winding roads up Mount Glorious, the air cools and the landscape transforms into dense, ancient rainforest. Over a ~5 km walk taken at a relaxed pace, we will explore lush walking tracks, listen for distinct bird calls, spot elusive wildlife, and take in sweeping mountain lookouts. With generous stopovers for photos, lunch, and tea, this tour is ideal for slowing down, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and experiencing the subtle details of this unique ecosystem. Tour Highlights: 🌿 Scenic Mountain Drive: Enjoy a peaceful ascent through D’Aguilar National Park as city noise gives way to ancient forest. 🐦 Birdwatching & Wildlife Spotting: Listen and look for Whipbirds, Catbirds, Wompoo Fruit Doves, pademelons, skinks, land mullets, and lace monitors. 🌳 Ancient Flora: Walk among towering strangler figs, giant eucalypts, native cypress groves, and lush fern canopies. 💧 Greens Falls & Creeks: Hike along boardwalks to local waterfalls and spot homes of the endangered Mount Glorious spiny crayfish. 🌄 Western Window Lookout: Marvel at expansive western views stretching toward Cunninghams Gap and Mount Barney. ☕ Relaxed Picnic: Pause for tea, coffee, fruit, and biscuits in a peaceful recreation area surrounded by birdlife. 🗣️ Multilingual Live Guide: Fully guided experience available in English, German, or Dutch.
