Overview

Welcome to Australia's ultimate wildlife spectacle! I’m Peter J, and I invite your group on an exclusive, private journey from Melbourne to witness the breathtaking natural wonders of the Moonlit Sanctuary and the world-famous Phillip Island Little Penguins. For me, guiding this tour isn't just about driving you to an attraction - it’s about giving you front-row access to Australia's most beloved native animals in a relaxed, luxurious, and completely personalized setting. Our adventure kicks off at the award-winning Moonlit Sanctuary, where you'll come face-to-face with roaming kangaroos, sleepy koalas, and playful wombats. From there, we journey down to the rugged coastlines of Phillip Island, stopping at a charming working dairy farm, panoramic surf beaches, and the dramatic clifftops of The Nobbies. As dusk falls, you will experience the magic of the Penguin Parade - the nightly arrival of Australia's largest little penguin colony. Witnessing these beautiful creatures emerge from the crashing surf and waddle across the sand to their dune burrows is a deeply moving experience and a world-class highlight. Travel in total comfort, bypass the crowds, and enjoy the wild soul of Victoria at your own pace.

Meeting Point

Complimentary pick-up from any accommodation or convenient location in the Melbourne CBD. Early airport arrivals can easily be accommodated if coordinated prior.

Itinerary

  • Midday Pick-Up & Journey to Moonlit Sanctuary

We begin with a comfortable private pick-up directly from your Melbourne CBD hotel (or earlier from the airport if requested). Our first destination is the beautiful Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. Here, you will spend the afternoon hand-feeding kangaroos, admiring koalas, and discovering incredible native marsupials, birds, and reptiles.

  • Country Dairy Farm Stop & Cape Woolamai

As we cross over onto the bridge to Phillip Island, we will stop at an authentic local working dairy farm and café. Stretch your legs, view the cows being milked up close, and indulge in a premium coffee or gourmet local ice cream. Afterward, we will take a scenic drive to the raw, rugged sands of Cape Woolamai Surf Beach to look out at the wild ocean swells.

  • Coastal Dinner in Cowes Village

Before the sun begins to set, we will cruise into the vibrant seaside township of Cowes. Here, you will have free time to enjoy a relaxing dinner at one of the village's excellent waterfront restaurants or local bistros (at guest's own expense), matching whatever cuisine your group desires.

  • The Nobbies & Seal Rocks

Next, we head to the western tip of the island to explore the sweeping boardwalks of The Nobbies. Peer out across the dramatic ocean blowholes toward Seal Rocks, home to Australia’s largest colony of wild Australian Fur Seals.

  • The Main Event: The Penguin Parade

As twilight settles over Summerland Beach, we head to the world-renowned Penguin Parade. Watch in awe as hundreds of the world's smallest penguins emerge from the ocean together and waddle right past you.

  • Starry Night Return to Melbourne

Following the parade, relax in our premium Mercedes van as I handle the night drive back, dropping you safely at your Melbourne address.

End Point

A seamless return transfer back to your original pickup point, or any customized inner-city drop-off location of your choice at the conclusion of the day.

Additional Information

  • What to Bring: Warm jacket, layers, comfortable walking shoes, and a camera

Plan B

Rain or shine, the penguins never miss their evening commute! Because the little penguins return to the beach every single night of the year regardless of the weather, this tour is 100% operational. If the weather turns damp or windy, I will adjust our day by spending extra time inside the sheltered eco-pavilions, enjoying a longer dinner at a cozy indoor restaurant in Cowes, and making sure you are positioned perfectly on the sheltered areas of the viewing platforms to stay warm, dry, and entirely comfortable.
