Our most popular outdoor event! Our Wildlife Photography course at Healesville Sanctuary is excellent for native animal and bird photography. Healesville Sanctuary is perfect for learning wildlife photography and is a bird lovers’ paradise. The animals are close and sometimes personal! The bird aviaries are well-designed and perfect for close photography without carrying huge lenses. The spirit of the Sky Arena display is the climax of our class and my team will be with you at every stage to ensure you get great results. You’ll be learning directly from me! Over the last 30 years, I’ve had the absolute privilege of teaching more than 30,000 people how to fall in love with photography. From complete beginners holding a camera for the first time, to specialized teams like the Victoria Police, MFB, and various Government Departments—I’ve trained them all! Teaching is my absolute passion, and my only goal is to help you unlock the magic inside YOUR camera so you can start taking photos that truly blow people away. Bring your enthusiasm, and let’s make some magic happen!

- Guaranteed Run Policy: We have a strict no minimum numbers policy. Your class will never be cancelled due to low enrolment.
- Bring your Camera (Obviously!), batteries, and cards for many great photos. Medium and bigger zooms are perfect for this class.
- We cater to all skill levels, from novices to master photographers and ages 9 to 99.
- Feel free to stay after the class to use the skills learned to catch one more great image.
Plan B
If extreme rain is forecast, we will advise 48 hours before the class and offer alternative dates or a refund of the class cost. Please note we have run many classes at Healesville in the rain and had great results.
