Hello, I'm Captain Hamish.
Born into a family where maritime history runs through our veins, my love for boats was practically guaranteed. My great-grandfather captained the coastal paddle steamer Newcastle, and my father, Warwick Turner, founded the Sydney Heritage Fleet to rescue historic vessels from ruin. Growing up in Echuca working on paddle-steamers, that same passion for preserving history took hold of me early on. Today, through classic cruises, I share that heritage with everyone who steps aboard. Over the years, our family has dedicated thousands of hours to restoring and building exceptional timber vessels. From meticulously restoring the 1924-built MV Grower - a historic NSW produce and passenger launch - to hand-building MV Eureka from the ground up at our family farm with master shipwrights, every detail reflects our commitment to craftsmanship, comfort, and timeless beauty. When you cruise with us, you aren't just taking a boat trip - you're stepping into a living piece of maritime history crafted with heart, dedication, and generations of Australian heritage. Why Experience a classic cruise with us? ⚓ Generations of Expertise: Built on a lifelong family passion for restoring and preserving historic timber boats. 🛠️ Unmatched Craftsmanship: Meticulously restored using premium, traditional timbers like celery top pine, teak, and jarrah. 🛋️ Designed for Comfort: MV Eureka features high-end aesthetic touches, plush seating, and panoramic stern views for the ultimate relaxation. 📜 Living Maritime History: Step aboard authentic historical vessels like MV Grower, which has been in continuous commercial service for over a century. 🛳️ Authentic Local Ownership: Operated directly by a passionate family dedicated to creating unforgettable, personal experiences on the water.

We had the absolute best afternoon on the Yarra with Captain Hamish and our favorite fellow tour crew member, Woody the dog! The cruise was smooth and scenic, with great commentary on Melbourne’s landmarks. Woody truly felt like part of our crew for the afternoon. It was the perfect finale to our Melbourne trip, and we can’t wait to come back and visit again. Thank you, Captain Hamish and Woody! 5/5 stars!
