How do taxes and invoicing work?
Localmingo is a platform that connects Locallers with Mingoers. This creates two types of relationships:
1. You and the Mingoer
As a host, you are responsible for delivering the tour or experience to the Mingoer. This also means:
- If a Mingoer requests a tax invoice or receipt, you must provide one for the Total Display Price of the tour or experience.
- You are responsible for understanding and fulfilling all tax obligations in your jurisdiction, such as VAT, GST, or income tax.
- Depending on where you live and where your experience takes place, you may also need to charge VAT or other local taxes (e.g., sales tax, occupancy tax) on the services you provide.
If you are unsure about your obligations, we recommend consulting a local tax advisor.
2. You and Localmingo
Localmingo provides the platform and support to help you host tours and experiences. For this service, we charge you a commission on the Total Display Price. Depending on your location and business setup, your fee/commission may be GST inclusive and we will issue a tax invoice to you if it’s applicable.
