Overview
Discover Auckland’s hidden natural gems on an immersive 4-hour guided tour through the city's lush northern suburbs. Located just 20 minutes from the city centre, this nature-packed experience features four easy, distinct walks showing off the area's incredible diversity. You'll explore ancient fossilized coastal forests, walk amidst 500-year-old native giants, take in bird’s-eye views from a treetop canopy walkway, and follow serene streams winding through native wetland bush. Along the way, you'll have time to grab a coffee or ice cream at Takapuna Beach, admire the city skyline from Birkenhead Wharf, and choose between a scenic drive over the Auckland Harbour Bridge or an iconic ferry ride right underneath it to return to the city centre. We are a small, passionate local team dedicated to personal, friendly, and conversational travel experiences. Your tour will be hosted by Mike, Harriet, Jerome, or one of our small team of expert local guides—all ready to share stories and knowledge about native flora, fauna and geology while answering any question you have! Tour Highlights: 🌊 Takapuna Fossil Coast: Explore a unique rocky coastline formed by ancient volcanic activity. 🌳 500-Year-Old Giants: Stroll the raised boardwalk of Smiths Bush among ancient native trees found nowhere else on Earth. 🐦 Kauri Glen Treetop Walk: Elevate your view with a canopy walkway treetop experience filled with native birdsong. 🌿 Le Roy’s Bush & Stream: Follow a tranquil wetland stream up a valley into native rainforest with your expert guide pointing out local flora and fauna. ⛴️ Harbour Bridge Ferry Finish: Enjoy great views of the Auckland city skyline from Birkenhead Wharf, with the option to take a ferry ride under the Auckland Harbour Bridge back to the city.
