Operating across central and western Auckland, this tour takes you beyond the standard tourist spots to explore hidden reserves, tranquil streams, and panoramic waterfront views - all on custom-built, Grade 1 cycle trails. Riding our premium electric bikes makes every incline effortless, allowing you to lift your head, take in the breathtaking views, and enjoy a unique perspective of the city without worrying about physical exertion or logistics. Led by Gordon - drawing on his 40+ years of riding experience and deep local knowledge - this tour combines authentic Kiwi hospitality with comprehensive trail support. Whether cruising past the iconic Harbour Bridge, exploring the natural spring at Western Springs Lake, or taking in sweeping views from the Auckland Domain, you’ll enjoy a seamlessly hosted experience complete with strategic support stops and a relaxed café break. Perfectly suited for beginners and experienced riders alike, all you need to do is turn the pedals and enjoy the ride. Meeting Point

Beside the playground on the Victoria St side of Victoria Park, Central Auckland (136 Fanshawe St / Victoria St intersection area). (Note: Alternative starting locations for Western or Southern loop routes can be arranged in advance with your guide.)

Itinerary

  • Briefing & Auckland Waterfront Start

    Meet beside the Victoria Park playground for e-bike fitting and a short safety briefing. Set off through Wynyard Quarter, past Silo Park and Westhaven Marina, taking in close-up views beneath the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

  • Inner Suburbs & Meola Peninsula

    Wind through the prestigious inner-west suburbs of Herne Bay and Grey Lynn, jumping onto custom gravel pathways that lead to stunning coastal lookout points on the Meola Peninsula.

  • Café Stop & Pt Chevalier

    Enjoy a coffee and morning tea break at a local café. Continue riding past the iconic Pt Chevalier Beach and the historic Carrington grounds.

  • Western Springs Lake & Historic Waterways

    Circumnavigate Western Springs Lake - Auckland's historic natural water source—and ride past Auckland Zoo, following connected stream paths linked to the city's rich history.

  • Northwestern Cycleway & Auckland Domain

    Connect back toward the central city via the Northwestern Cycleway, making a scenic loop up to the Auckland Domain and War Memorial Museum for sweeping panoramic views of the city skyline.

  • Historic Waterfront & Return

    Glide past the historic Ferry Building and back through the vibrant Viaduct Harbour area, arriving back at Victoria Park for final refreshments.

End Point

Returns to Victoria Park, Central Auckland.

Additional Information

  • Rider Suitability: Grade 1 terrain (easy flat paths and smooth gravel trails). Suitable for beginner riders aged 12 and above.
  • What to Bring: Comfortable footwear (sneakers), weather-appropriate clothing (windbreaker or light jacket), sun protection, and a refillable water bottle.
  • Restrictions: Not suitable for children under 12 years old, pregnant women, or individuals over 75 years of age due to equipment sizing and safety parameters.
  • Minimum Participant Requirements: Please note that a minimum of 4 participants is required for this tour to run. If the minimum number is not met, Gordon will contact you as soon as possible to offer alternative dates or a full refund.
  • Information Required: Please provide the height of each rider when booking so we can ensure proper bike fitting.

Plan B

Auckland's weather can be unpredictable. In the event of heavy rain or strong coastal winds: - Alternative Route: The tour will shift to a sheltered, fully paved urban greenway route utilizing covered passages, protected parkways (such as the internal pathways of Auckland Domain), and low-wind urban connectors. - Rescheduling / Refund: If severe conditions render riding unsafe, guests will be offered the choice to reschedule for a future time slot or receive a full refund. - Minimum Group Size: This tour requires a minimum of 4 participants to run. If the minimum number is not met, we may need to cancel or reschedule the session, but we will always give you as much advance notice as possible.
