Physical Fitness & What to Bring: Travelers should have an easy to moderate fitness level for walking across farm terrain. Please bring comfortable walking shoes, a camera, hat, sunscreen, and water.
Ticket Availability Notice: Hobbiton Movie Set tickets are in extremely high demand and sell out fast during peak seasons. We must verify ticket availability with Hobbiton upon receiving your request. If official tickets are sold out for your requested date, we will notify you immediately.
Please note that an optional stop at Hamilton Gardens is not included in the base price. It can be added for NZ$250, payable directly to your guide on the day of the tour via cash or credit card.

Plan B

The Hobbiton Movie Set walking tour operates in all weather conditions (umbrellas are provided on set). However, in the event of extreme weather: - Rainy Day Operations: Hobbiton provides large golf umbrellas for guests on set. The Green Dragon Inn and Hobbit hole interiors offer sheltered spots during the tour. - Severe Weather / Road Closures: If severe storm warnings or flooding affect highways between Auckland and Matamata, we will offer to reschedule your tour date at no additional charge or provide a full refund of your booking deposit. - Custom Route Adjustment: If outdoor conditions are unfavourable, your guide can swap optional outdoor stops for indoor attractions, craft centers, or cozy dining spots along the return route.
