Additional Information

  • What to Bring: Clean walking or hiking shoes, swimmers and a towel, a hat and camera, reusable water bottle.
  • To shield the incredibly fragile, ancient aquatic ecosystems of Mossman Gorge and the Daintree from chemical harm, we actively discourage the use of chemical insect repellents and sunscreens immediately before swimming.
  • Wearing sun-safe, lightweight clothing in lighter or neutral tones provides exceptional natural UV protection, keeps you beautifully cool in the tropical humidity, and naturally discourages mosquitoes and other forest insects without the need for heavy chemical sprays!

Plan B

Swimming in the Gorge is weather permitted. The Daintree is a tropical rainforest environment, meaning during our wet season, extreme weather can occasionally alter river levels or trigger heavy downpours that make gorge swimming unsafe. Our Contingency: Depending on the severity of the weather, we will adjust the itinerary accordingly.
