For me, exploring this majestic 550km stretch of coastline isn’t just about sitting in a vehicle - it's about waking up your senses to the fresh southern ocean breeze, standing in awe before ancient rock formations, and spotting Australia's iconic wildlife in their natural habitats. I like to do the Great Ocean Road a little differently - and much smarter. To give you the ultimate luxury experience, I take the scenic inland route first thing in the morning. This brilliant "Reverse Itinerary" allows us to arrive at the world-famous Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge before lunch, completely beating the massive crowds and chaotic tour buses that flood the area in the afternoon. From pristine old-growth rainforests and sheer clifftops to quaint seaside villages and wild koalas, this premium private charter delivers the perfect blend of slow, relaxed indulgence and jaw-dropping scenery at your very own pace.

We begin with a convenient morning pick-up from your Melbourne location. Leaving the city behind, we cruise via the smooth inland highway straight toward the shipwreck coast. Along the way, we will pause in the charming town of Colac for a relaxing morning tea and a premium barista coffee break to fuel up for the adventure ahead.
The Twelve Apostles & Loch Ard Gorge (Beat the Crowds!)
Arriving well ahead of the afternoon rush, you will experience the magnificent Twelve Apostles and the dramatic towering cliffs of Port Campbell National Park in serene tranquility. Wander the boardwalks seamlessly and explore the hauntingly beautiful Loch Ard Gorge without the wall-to-wall crowds.

After soaking in the monuments, the spectacular shoreline scenery begins as we hug the coast, driving so close to the water that the crashing waves feel within arms' reach. We’ll stop in the vibrant seaside village of Apollo Bay for free time to relax and enjoy lunch at a fantastic local café (at guest's own expense).
Ancient Rainforests & Wild Koala Spotting
If time permits, we will step into the cool, lush canopy of Mait’s Rest for a short, magical rainforest walk among ancient trees. From there, we head to Kennett River, one of Australia's premier wild habitats, where we will look up into the sweet-scented eucalyptus trees to spot wild Koalas and vibrant native birds in their natural element.
Lorne Surf Village & Bells Beach Kangaroos
We continue our journey through the famous, fashionable coastal town of Lorne, stopping for a refreshing stretch and a stroll along its beautiful sandy beach. Our final coastal highlight is the world-renowned Bells Beach, host of the World Pro Surfing Tour. By this time in the afternoon, a local mob of wild kangaroos usually comes out to feed, providing a picture-perfect Australian wildlife viewing experience against an awesome ocean backdrop.
Relaxed Return to Melbourne
After passing through the surf capital of Torquay, we will make our comfortable way back to the city.
End Point
A seamless return transfer back to your original pickup point, or any customized inner-city drop-off location of your choice at the conclusion of the day.

The Great Ocean Road is a wild, living landscape that looks incredibly dramatic in any weather! If Mother Nature brings rain or heavy ocean mist, your tour remains completely spectacular. I will seamlessly adapt the day's rhythm - swapping exposed clifftop walks for extended wildlife spotting, extra time cozying up in the beautiful heritage cafés of Lorne and Apollo Bay, and maximizing our time inside the sheltered lookouts and misty, fairytale canopies of the old-growth rainforest, ensuring you stay warm, dry, and beautifully looked after.
