Hi​,​ I’m David​,​ your guide. I can’t wait to head out into the wilderness with you soon! My goal isn't just to show you the sights​,​ but to bring the wildness into focus and share the deeper stories of this incredible island. I have 10 years of guiding experience in Tasmania​,​ backed by an official local guiding qualification and a university background in geography​,​ geology​,​ botany​,​ and hydrology. I’ve even worked as a water resources scientist​,​ which means I can give you a unique perspective on the landscapes we cross. But we won't just talk science - I love bringing our destinations to life with entertaining history and firsthand tales​,​ from the adventures of early hiking pioneers to my own experiences as a volunteer firefighter. When I'm not guiding​,​ I'm currently learning Mandarin and volunteering with the local brigade to give back to our community. I like to go hiking and to travel and explore new places. I also love to spend time with my wife Helen who was born in Shanghai​,​ my daughter Anna and our Asian friends. Tasmania is a treasure trove of striking mountains​,​ ancient forests​,​ and charming historic towns​,​ and I'm so grateful you’ve chosen to explore it with us. Let's make it an unforgettable journey!
